Herron hasn't had much luck against Cathedral recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Achaeans will challenge the Fighting Irish at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Herron is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Indianapolis Shortridge. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Achaeans.

Colvin Meek made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Meek was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elon Sharp, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Herron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indianapolis Shortridge only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Cathedral never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Purdue Polytechnic with a sharp 10-0 win.
Ethan Dorsey looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Landon Hughes was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Michael Gallagher, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Cathedral has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Herron, their record now sits at 11-6.
Herron suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Cathedral in their previous matchup on May 7th. Can the Achaeans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
