Softball Recap: Cross Plains Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cross Plains barely beat Santa Anna the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cross Plains blew past Santa Anna 16-1 on Monday. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Cross Plains' third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only three in the others. As for Santa Anna, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Santa Anna will head out to square off against Eula at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cross Plains will be paying especially close attention to Santa Anna's contest: after Santa Anna faces off against Eula, they'll take on Cross Plains again at 5:00 p.m. on April 4.
