Softball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 8-3 to the NorthWood Panthers. The Lakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Haylee Hicks was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Lakeland's record is now 0-3. As for NorthWood, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Lakeland and NorthWood will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Lakers see the field they'll take on Prairie Heights at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for NorthWood, their break will end when they face West Noble at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th.
