Basketball Game Preview: Maryville Christian Lions vs. Althoff Catholic Crusaders

Maryville Christian is 0-3 against Althoff Catholic since November of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Maryville Christian Lions will head out to face off against the Althoff Catholic Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Maryville Christian strolled past Southwestern with points to spare, taking the game 40-24. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Althoff Catholic posted their biggest victory since January 29, 2024 on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 63-21 win over Cahokia. With the Crusaders ahead 43-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Althoff Catholic's record is now 9-13. As for Maryville Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.

Maryville Christian took a serious blow against Althoff Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 52-20. Can Maryville Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
