Volleyball Recap: Severance Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Severance waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Arrupe Jesuit Generals as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Tuesday.

Severance's got stronger as the match went on, holding Arrupe Jesuit to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-10, 25-8.

Matt Zenger paced Severance's offense, picking up seven kills. Zenger got some help from Gabe Schneekloth and his 18 assists. Schneekloth was also solid from the service line: he led the team with eight aces.

Severance's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Severance will square off against rival Stargate School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Arrupe Jesuit is set to challenge their familiar foe Windsor Charter Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
