Baseball Recap: Mississinewa Gets the Win

Mississinewa won the last time they faced Madison-Grant and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Argylls, sneaking past 3-1. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly two runs.

Kavion Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Mississinewa's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Seth Yoder, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Yoder is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Mississinewa and bumps their season record up to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Madison-Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Mississinewa will challenge Northfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Madison-Grant, they will face off against Shenandoah at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Argylls surely won't give up without a fight.
