Basketball Recap: Mullen Comes Up Short

Mullen played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by South Loup 52-22. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.

Mullen lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nicholas Gonzalez, who posted eight points and four steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Mullen has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for South Loup, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.

Mullen has already played their next game (against Sandhills/Thedford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for South Loup, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-43 victory against Southern Valley on the 8th.
