This Week in High School Football Podcast: Episode 13

By Mitch Stephens Nov 23, 2016, 11:00am

Talented uncommitted five-star receiver Donovan People-Jones, coming off an amazing game-winning catch in state semifinals, talks recruiting, Thanksgiving food and illustrious history at Cass Tech.

The 13th CB and Poff Show — featuring hosts Chris Brown and Zack Poff — is rapid fire from the start.

The Podcast team starts strong by introducing the top uncommitted football player in the land, five-star receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones of nationally ranked Cass Tech (Detroit, Mich.).

Peoples-Jones immediately described the No. 1 Play from Plays of the Week, his acrobatic game-winning grab between two receivers in the right corner of the end zone. The grab vaulted his team into the state playoff finals.

"My quarterback couldn't have put it in a better spot," he said. "It couldn't have been any sweeter. It all came together. I caught the ball in bounds and the rest is history."

Peoples-Jones went on to cover his college recruiting, his love for Cass Tech, his affection for dark meat on Thanksgiving — not to mention candy yams and green beans — and chance for history with a win this week against Catholic Central for the state Division I championship.

After that great interview, Poff and CB hit on what Poff described as "the best week of games of the entire season." The duo picked every game and many of the picks will fool you.

The 44-minute podcast flies by.
