James Island proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Porter-Gaud Cyclones 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won six matches in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was James Island who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-16, 18-25, 18-16.

Olivia Morris paced James Island's offense, picking up 15 kills. Morris got some help from Natalie McGeorge and her 49 assists. Morris was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

James Island's victory bumped their record up to 27-9-1. As for Porter-Gaud, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-18.

As of now, neither James Island nor the Cyclones have any future games scheduled.
