Softball Game Preview: Madison Trojans vs. Sand Creek Aggies

Madison is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Sand Creek Aggies at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Madison took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hillsdale a 15-0 shutout. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Trojans this season.

The team relied heavily on Mya Solis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Sophia Dulbs also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Sand Creek made easy work of Blissfield on Thursday and carried off a 15-5 win. Considering the Aggies' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The victory made it two in a row for Sand Creek and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Madison took their win against Sand Creek when the teams last played back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 13-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
