Softball Recap: Schaeffer Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fillmore Central/Lanesboro

Schaeffer Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They came up short against the Fillmore Central/Lanesboro Falcons, falling 21-9. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Lions' highest-scoring match to date.

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024 (when they won 15-2).

For Fillmore Central/Lanesboro's part, Jensyn Storhoff was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Storhoff was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

In other batting news, Haley O'Connor was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Izzy Nagel was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Schaeffer Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 loss against Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons on the 22nd. As for Fillmore Central/Lanesboro, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 22-1 defeat against St. Charles on the 22nd.
