Recap: Ilwaco Fishermen vs. Raymond/South Bend Ravens
If the Ilwaco Fishermen were riding high off their 75-30 takedown of the Hoquiam Grizzlies last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between Ilwaco and Raymond/South Bend wasn't particularly close, with Ilwaco falling 61-45. Ilwaco was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Raymond/South Bend apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Raymond/South Bend got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyndal Koski out in front who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Koski has scored all season. Kassie Koski was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Ilwaco's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Raymond/South Bend, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Ilwaco will head out on the road to square off against Forks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Forks knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Ilwaco likes a good challenge. As for Raymond/South Bend, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. Chief Leschi is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
