Softball Recap: East Lyme Victorious

East Lyme won the last time they faced Guilford and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Grizzlies 10-9. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Mia Lloyd, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Lorelei Gronholm was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: East Lyme kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They got six more hits than Guilford's also-impressive total of 11.

East Lyme's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Guilford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

As of now, neither East Lyme nor the Grizzlies have any future games scheduled.
