Softball Recap: Sarasota's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

Sarasota easily dispatched Yulee last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Sailors fell just short of the Parrish Community Bulls by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Gemma Mulhollen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sarasota saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The defeat snapped Sarasota's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-5 record. As for Parrish Community, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

Sarasota has already played their next game, a 15-1 victory against Manatee on the 4th. As for Parrish Community, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against Hardee on the 3rd.
