Soccer Game Preview: Mira Monte vs. Golden Valley

The Mira Monte Lions will face off against the Golden Valley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Golden Valley better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Mira Monte really get things going. Mira Monte was the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Foothill on Wednesday. Considering the Lions have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Foothill with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Joshua Montoya, Alex Ledezma, Eder Perez, and David Ramirez.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Golden Valley). They put the hurt on Del Oro with a sharp 6-3 win on Wednesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Mira Monte pushed their record up to 9-2-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four contests. As for Golden Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5-3.
