Softball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hendrickson Hawks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Hendrickson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Elgin and Hendrickson will both be playing Weiss the next time they take the field. Elgin will host Weiss at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Hendrickson will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
