Basketball Recap: Riley Saldana Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas

Pahrump Valley won the last time they faced Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pahrump Valley Trojans blew past the Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons 48-25. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Pahrump Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Saldana out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Those 18 points gave Saldana a new career-high. Savannah Thompson was another key player, putting up six points along with ten rebounds and five steals.

Despite the loss, Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas still got an impressive performance from Bella Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. That was a full 36% of Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Wingate, who put up six points and five rebounds.

Pahrump Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.7 points. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Pahrump Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-17 loss against Moapa Valley on the 13th. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, they will host American Heritage Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
