Baseball Recap: Elko Comes Up Short

Elko was the 9-2 winner over North Valleys when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Elko Indians lost 16-6 to the North Valleys Panthers on Saturday.

Coy Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Elko: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Adam Roumanos, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Elko now has a losing record of 4-5. As for North Valleys, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

While Elko had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
