Volleyball Game Preview: Salome Frogs vs. Anthem Prep Eagles

Salome is 1-9 against Anthem Prep since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Frogs will face off against the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. Salome will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

If San Pasqual Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Salome, they should've done a better job of containing Brittny Soberanes. The Frogs put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 3-0 win last Thursday thanks in part to Soberanes, who had 18 assists and seven aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Salome walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-16, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Anthem Prep lost 3-0 to North Phoenix Preparatory Academy on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-20.

Salome's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Anthem Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.

Salome suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Anthem Prep in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Frogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
