Basketball Game Preview: Music Mountain Warriors vs. Ash Fork Spartans

The Music Mountain Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Ash Fork Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ash Fork took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Music Mountain, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Music Mountain turned things around against BASIS Flagstaff back in December of 2024. They slipped by the Yetis 1-0. The one-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Ash Fork has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by Joseph City and fell 58-16. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Wildcats are ranked 48th).

Ash Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Music Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Music Mountain suffered a grim 41-20 defeat to Ash Fork in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Music Mountain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
