A victory for Gulf Breeze just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They had to suffer through a 48-20 loss at the hands of the Navarre Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dolphins have suffered against the Raiders since October 26, 2018.

Gulf Breeze lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brock Stomps, who threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns. 90 of those passing yards were hauled in by Caleb Carter, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Navarre found their leader in underclassman Keagan Gilbert, who rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Those 213 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Gilbert. Roman Marshall was another key passer, throwing for 166 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Gulf Breeze's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Navarre, their record is now 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Breeze's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Mosley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
