Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for University

It was a proper cat-fight when University duked it out with Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on Friday. The University Cougars had just enough and edged the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers out 4-3. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

University saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Montanez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Montanez has posted since back in March of 2024.

The win was the third in a row for University, bringing their record for this year to 3-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Looking ahead, University will be playing in front of their home fans against Edgewater at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University is facing Edgewater at the right time seeing as Edgewater is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
