Basketball Game Preview: Northwestern Area Wildcats vs. North Central Thunder

Northwestern Area is 7-1 against North Central since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Northwestern Area Wildcats will challenge the North Central Thunder at 8:00 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Northwestern Area faced off against Great Plains Lutheran on Thursday. Northwestern Area fell 51-43 to Great Plains Lutheran.

Meanwhile, North Central escaped with a win on Friday against Tiospaye Topa by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.

Northwestern Area has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for North Central, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Everything came up roses for Northwestern Area against North Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwestern Area since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
