Football Recap: Maine South Takes Down Ranked Barrington + How To Watch

Maine South faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Fillies/Broncos with a sharp 41-21 victory. The Hawks pushed the score to 41-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Fillies/Broncos cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Maine South to victory were Niko Kokosioulis and Jameson Purcell. Kokosioulis gained 229 total yards and three touchdowns, while Purcell threw for 249 yards and three TDs. With that strong performance, Kokosioulis is now averaging an impressive 111.5 rushing yards per game.

Barrington's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Tepas, who threw for 291 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. The Fillies/Broncos also got a significant boost from Lamar Osterhues, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 122 yards.

Maine South's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.8 points over those games. As for Barrington, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.
