Basketball Recap: Alonso Comes Up Short

Alonso fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Chamberlain on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Chamberlain Storm. The Ravens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Alonso's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Chamberlain, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Alonso Ravens challenge the Leto Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chamberlain, they will face off against Hillsborough at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Chamberlain's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
