            Softball Recap: Whiteoak Wildcats vs. Clay Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Whiteoak extended their losing streak  to nine  on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They came up short against  the Clay Panthers, falling  12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by  exactly ten  runs.
As for Clay, the  win was  the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-8. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs.
For Clay's part,  Laney Shepherd made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. Shepherd has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Sarah Cassidy was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and two  runs.  Elin Shaw was another key player,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
As of now, neither Whiteoak nor Clay have any future games scheduled.
