Basketball Game Preview: New Manchester Jaguar vs. Douglas County Tigers

New Manchester and Douglas County are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The New Manchester Jaguar will challenge the Douglas County Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. New Manchester knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 contests -- so hopefully Douglas County likes a good challenge.

On Friday, New Manchester made easy work of Villa Rica and carried off an 81-55 victory. Given the Jaguar's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Wildcats are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Douglas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Westlake 78-47.

New Manchester is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

New Manchester beat Douglas County 77-64 in their previous matchup on Saturday. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Manchester since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
