 Sadly, Monticello is still looking for their first win of the season after ten  matchups. They suffered a  rough 19-1 defeat at the hands of the Wayne Badgers  in Friday's  second game. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Monticello of the  15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  in Friday's  first game.
 Monticello saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Dakota Halliday, who  went 1-for-1 with  an  RBI.
 On Wayne's side,  Rylan Taylor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (she also only allowed one  walk). Taylor was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played.
 In other batting news,  MaKayla Jones was a standout: she got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Oaklee Brian, who  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Wayne, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5.
 Monticello will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Grand County at 3:30  p.m. As for Wayne, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Panguitch at 3:30  p.m.  in Tuesday's  first game.
