Basketball Recap: Antelope Comes Up Short

Antelope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 26th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 35-12 to the St. John Paul II Catholic Lions.

St. John Paul II Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sofia Cervantes, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Janey Lopez, who earned 14 points.

Antelope's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antelope will head out to face off against Maryvale Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Maryvale Prep will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Antelope surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they will venture away from home to take on Wickenburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
