Basketball Recap: Dowagiac Comes Up Short

Dowagiac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Berrien Springs Shamrocks, falling 69-47. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Shamrocks are ranked 88th).

Dowagiac's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Berrien Springs, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Looking ahead, Dowagiac will challenge South Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Haven will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Dowagiac surely won't give up without a fight. As for Berrien Springs, they have already played their next contest, a 48-44 victory against Godwin Heights on the 8th.
