Basketball Game Preview: The Nueva School Mavericks vs. More Knights

The Nueva School Mavericks will venture away from home to challenge the More Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Nueva School is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

The Nueva School lost 76-54 to Basis Independent Silicon Valley on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, More was not quite University Prep Academy's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 42-39. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Eagles 13-4 in the first quarter.

The Nueva School will need focus on slowing down Quentin Vogel, one of several More players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points and five rebounds. Vincenzo Selway was another key player, going 6 of 12 en route to 15 points.

Even though they lost, More smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

More has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for The Nueva School, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

The Nueva School might still be hurting after the 81-61 loss they got from More in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of More's Anthony Selway, who went 11 for 26 on his way to 29 points and five steals.
