3A Region 3 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Gordo extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 3 this week by beating Pickens County, 14-13. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Green Wave.
Gordo moved up to 112 from 141 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. David Mckinney's team was able to make move up by defeating the Tornadoes 14-13.
Greensboro's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Quante Brown threw for 192 and three touchdowns and Darryl Campbell had 105 yards receiving. On the ground Kiemondre Turner chipped in 156 yards. Tyrez McCain helped Greensboro's passing attack out by catching two balls for 69 yards.
Garret Lewis has thrown for 1790 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Braylan Smith has 25 catches for 718 yards. Lewis also leads the league in rushing with 700 yards.
The Green Wave and Pickens County played the most hotly contested game in 3A Region 3 this week, with the Green Wave eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory.
