Baseball Recap: Octorara Area Triumphs

Octorara Area took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Conestoga Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Buckskins on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Braves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Paxson Groff, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiron Gonzalez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Octorara Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conestoga Valley only posted an OBP of .241.

Octorara Area's record now sits at 6-13. As for Conestoga Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

As of now, neither Octorara Area nor the Buckskins have any future games scheduled.
