Basketball Game Preview: Orting Cardinals vs. Steilacoom Sentinels

Orting hasn't had much luck against Steilacoom recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Orting Cardinals will host the Steilacoom Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Orting is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 63 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Eatonville on Friday. They took a blow against the Cruisers, falling 56-16. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Cruisers are ranked 75th).

Meanwhile, Steilacoom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-42 heartbreaker at the hands of Clover Park. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Sentinels have suffered against the Timberwolves since February 7, 2022.

Steilacoom's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Orting, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
