Preview: Quitman Bulldogs vs. New Diana Eagles
The Quitman Bulldogs will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the New Diana Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Quitman is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Diana in Texas (Quitman is ranked 465th, while New Diana is ranked 1111th).
Last Thursday, Quitman lost to Hooks on the road by a decisive 46-31 margin.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-18, which was the final score in New Diana's tilt against Grand Saline on Saturday. New Diana was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.
Abbie Shafer was New Diana's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Kayleigh Tibbetts held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. Tibbetts took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Their wins bumped Quitman to 4-4 and Hooks to 12-1.
Quitman beat New Diana 41-29 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Quitman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
