Basketball Recap: McClatchy Lions vs. Mt. Diablo Red Devils
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McClatchy). They claimed a resounding 89-21 win over the Mt. Diablo Red Devils. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their 30-point performance the contest before.

McClatchy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eugene Castillo, who went 9 of 15 en route to 25 points. Those 25 points gave Castillo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was SyriuS Craig, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals.
McClatchy's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Mt. Diablo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
McClatchy will square off against Christian Brothers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian Brothers knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully McClatchy likes a good challenge. As for Mt. Diablo, they will take on Liberty in a tournament on Thursday.
