Baseball Recap: Pocono Mountain East Continues Road Dominance on Monday

It was a proper cat-fight when Pocono Mountain East faced off against Pocono Mountain West on Monday. The Cardinals blew past the Panthers 7-0. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Brady Marabell looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Vincent Gambino was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Angst, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Pocono Mountain East pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pocono Mountain West, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Pocono Mountain East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pocono Mountain West, they will welcome East Stroudsburg North at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.53 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
