Softball Recap: Westlake Find Success

Westlake won the last time they faced Rocky River and things went their way on Monday too. The Demons walked away with a 10-6 win over the Pirates. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Demons.

Leni Salvator was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Salvator was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katherine England, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. Trudy Rocco was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

The victory got Westlake back to even at 6-6. As for Rocky River, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rocky River, they will challenge North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.53 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
