Football Recap: Cash Cowley and Jarrett Helman Secure Win for Shenandoah + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Shenandoah, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves with a sharp 44-21 victory on Friday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-0.

Shenandoah was led to victory by Jarrett Helman and Cash Cowley. Helman threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes, while Cowley rushed for 91 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave Helman a new career-high in passer rating (166.9).

Despite the loss, Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dylan Grimes picked up 125 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 125 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Grimes. Chip Bennett was another key rusher, rushing for 109 yards.

The win got Shenandoah back to even at 2-2. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shenandoah will take on Park Tudor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they will challenge South Adams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Starfires have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
