After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnson Central, Greenup County was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Portsmouth West Senators. The win was some much needed relief for the Musketeers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Brenden Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Gavin Roy and Kyler Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: Roy went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Robinson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Robinson has posted over his last 11 matchups.

Greenup County's victory bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Portsmouth West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenup County will take on Tates Creek at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Portsmouth West, they will square off against Dawson-Bryant at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
