Softball Recap: Langley Saxons vs. Penfield Patriots
After only two runs in their last match, Langley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Penfield on Wednesday. The Saxons were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Patriots. The Saxons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Norah Jacques made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Langley got a big performance out of Megan Connery, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Connery has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Glantzis, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Langley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Penfield only managed eight hits.
Langley's record is now 8-5-1. As for Penfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Looking ahead, Langley will host Wakefield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-6 loss against James Madison on the 17th.
