Softball Recap: Hardin County Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Hardin County won the last time they faced Carrier Mills-Stonefort and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars walked away with a 6-2 win over the Wildcats.

Hardin County got a big performance out of Macey Martin, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bayleigh Williams, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Hardin County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hardin County's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrisburg will venture away from home to challenge Pope County at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carrier Mills-Stonefort, they will square off against Century at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Centurions have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
