Preview: Trillium Academy vs. Advanced Tech Academy Lakers
Trillium Academy is 4-0 against Advanced Tech Academy since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Trillium Academy will head out on the road to face off against the Advanced Tech Academy Lakers at 6:00 p.m. Trillium Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 433 points over their last six matchups.
Trillium Academy pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between Trillium Academy and Richard wasn't particularly close, with Trillium Academy falling 73-55. While losing is never fun, Trillium Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Richard is ranked ninth).
Despite their defeat, Trillium Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Keymarryon Fishburn, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Sharone Russ was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Advanced Tech Academy waltzed into their game Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Star International Academy by a score of 52-45.
Trillium Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Advanced Tech Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Trillium Academy against Advanced Tech Academy when the teams last played back in February as the team secured a 58-19 win. With Trillium Academy ahead 32-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
