Basketball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chieftains of the 50-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Highland, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Riverdale has already played their next match (against Iowa-Grant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Highland will head out on the road to take on River Ridge at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
