Softball Game Preview: Danville Admirals vs. Lincoln County Patriots

Danville hasn't had much luck against Lincoln County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Admirals will head out on the road to face off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Danville has given up an average of 15.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Danville is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 24-13 to Washington County.

Sienna Frink made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Dre'Ana White, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Rockcastle County hit Lincoln County with a five-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots came up short against the Rockets, falling 11-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost nine in a row.

Madison Cassidy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailee Elmore, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Lincoln County's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Danville might still be hurting after the 14-1 loss they got from Lincoln County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Admirals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
