Softball Recap: Murdock Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Murdock ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Montachusett RVT Bulldogs 3-2. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered an 8-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kassandra Santos spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Sadie Bauver was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenndra Lamb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Murdock's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Montachusett RVT, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murdock will challenge Gardner at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Montachusett RVT, they will face off against Assabet Valley RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Aztecs at the right time seeing as the Aztecs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
