Strongsville and Brunswick are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will welcome the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Strongsville 2.5, Brunswick 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Saturday, Strongsville was able to grind out a solid victory over Twinsburg, taking the game 5-1.

Meanwhile, Brunswick fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hudson on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Explorers by a score of 5-4. The Blue Devils' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Jackson Briggs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Zachary Callahan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Strongsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Strongsville came out on top in a nail-biter against Brunswick in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
