Baseball Recap: Blackford Has No Trouble Against Community

Blackford's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Community Vikings/Viqueens 16-1. This was a revenge game for the Bruins: when they faced off against the Vikings/Viqueens on Friday, they had to take a 9-3 defeat.

Trey McIntire was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Blackford let Max Bonewit and Cole Dickey run wild. Bonewit scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Dickey scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave Bonewit a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Clayton Heflin, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win got Blackford back to even at 1-1. As for Community, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Blackford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-1 defeat against Bluffton on the 10th. As for Community, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Heritage Christian on the 5th.
