Basketball Recap: Mize Comes Up Short

Mize extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 7-12. They had to suffer through a 66-25 loss at the hands of the Heidelberg Oilers. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 54-24 to the Oilers when the teams met back in February of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Heidelberg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Heidelberg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mariyah Farrell, who went 7-for-15 en route to 15 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Another player making a difference was Adaisjah Leverett, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Coming up, Mize will challenge Seminary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heidelberg, they will face off against Bay Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
