Basketball Game Preview: Huntsville Hornets vs. Rudder Rangers

The Huntsville Hornets will take on the Rudder Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Huntsville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.

Huntsville took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against A&M Consolidated by a score of 71-64.

Meanwhile, Rudder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. The game between them and Montgomery didn't end well, with Rudder falling 58-40.

Huntsville will need focus on slowing down Kayden Holmes, one of several Rudder players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 11 en route to 10 points and six boards. Jaquise Martin was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Huntsville pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Rudder, their loss dropped their record down to 14-16.

Huntsville beat Rudder 77-67 in their previous meeting back in January.
